What are the meanings of Edition size, Open /Limited Edition & Artist's Proofs?
The Edition size specifies how many of that reproduction were made. Generally, the lower the edition size the more valuable the reproduction.
Open Edition Prints are not numbered, ( meaning OPEN) and generally not signed, Although all of the open edition prints we sell are signed, other web-sites may offer them signed at an additional price or sell them unsigned.
The Limited Edition Prints/Giclees are signed by the artist and numbered showing the limited quantity of Prints/Giclees available.
The Artist's proofs are signed by the artist and numbered showing the quantity of artist's proofs available. Because of their restricted number, artist's proofs are sold at a higher price. The lower the edition size the more valuable the reproduction.
This is the only place artists proofs are available to purchase.
