“Mulies” This is my first painting of a mule deer. I rarely see them in the wild and I know little about them, but perhaps that will change. This painting is done on canvas set into a pine frame. The first time I painted on such a support, I though I would “control myself” and stay on the canvas. That didn’t work. I painted on to the frame. A new freedom presented itself and I just can’t stop doing these paintings on the pine frames. It’s like eating cherry vanilla ice cream.
